Big Cats and Public Safety Protection Act

BIGCATOWNERSHIPACTIFAW the animal welfare charity has welcomed new legislation plans aiming to control private ownership of big cats in America.

US Senator John Kerry has introduced the Big Cats and Public Safety Protection Act.

The act aims to prohibit private possession and breeding of captive big cats in the United States and comes a year on from an incident in Zanesville, Ohio when approximately 50 wild animals escaped from a private facility.
